OUR CHIQ., JUST HAD HER FRONT LEG AMPUTATED. IT’S BEEN BROKEN FOR 6 MO. SHE’S HAS HAD 3 OPERATIONS TO FIX HER LEG, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, IT DIDN’T HEAL. THE VET WAS AFRAID OF AN INFECTION SETTING IN, AND HER TWO TINY BROKEN BONES WERE DISENGRATING, AND COULD POSSIBLY CUT INTO THE BLOOD VESSELS / ARTERIES.

Such a precious baby- I just want to pick her up and cuddle her. I bet the hardest job you will have in a couple weeks is keeping her from doing too much!
Sendinf pawsitive thoughts your way. Please keep us updated.
Oh yeah, can we all come over and hug and cuddle her? What a cutie pie!
I kmow this recovery time isn’t fun, but you will be amazed at how quicky she adapts to three legs. Actually, bwcause of her situation prior to surgery, she already has.
The playpen is a great idea! Yeah, the first two weeks you’ll want to keep her from jumping and over doing, etc. If you have stairs, try not to let her go up and down for a bit.
This REALLY is the best solutin for her situation. Now she can get on with living a fun andnhappy life playing full out! I know with that sweet face she knows how to get all the loving and spoiling she wants!!
Iif you have hardwood floors, you may want to get scatter rugs for traction.
You are a devoted and strong mom!! Good job!
Keep us posted and let us know how we can help, okay? The first week or so may be a little rough…or not! We are here! You are not alone!!
Welcome home Nicole! You will do great and your parents will be amazed. We look forward to many more exciting posts. Take it easy for the first few weeks. Don’t forget you have three legs and when you have a little tumble pick yourself up and keep on going.

HELLO,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS. WE ARE PICKING UP NICOLE FROM THE VET HOSPITAL, ON SATURDAY, OCT.
26TH. (WE ARE A BIT AFRAID, AS SHE IS SO FRAGILE.)
NEED TO KEEP HER FROM JUMPIMG UP / DOWN, FOR QUITE AWHILE. SURE “DON’T WANT” HER GOOD FRONT LEG TO BREAK.
(WE BOUGHT A 10 FT LONG, INCLOSED PLAY PEN, FOR HER TO EXERCISE, & BE SAFE IN.
WHEN SHE IS ON OUR LAP, WE NEED TO HOLD HER TIGHT, MAKING SURE SHE ‘DOESN’T JUMP DOWN.’ VERY SCARY ):
